My name is Chris Beattie. My background is in enterprise IT, I’ve been an ICT Manager in a K-12 school in Western Australia for the last decade and am now working as a cybersecurity specialist in Northern Ireland. I got into security in a big way through education (working in an environment with 1000 students / 1000 malicious insiders will do that to you!) and although my current interests are in the government arena, edu is still close to my heart. I started in IT as a generalist and I’m continuing in infosec as one; I do technical architecting and managing in the Microsoft world with M365, Entra and Defender but I’m also across GRC, culture and a basically anything else that protrudes even marginally into the security sphere. This merry little collection of writings springs from my varied experience with a bit of leftfield rando blether thrown in from time to time.
